Most tourists and backpack travelers assumed that since we've lived in southern California, which was only 2 hours away from the San Diego and Mexico border that we are boiling hot all summer and it never snows in SoCal. Sorry to disappoint you, but in Califonia, you get the best of everything, we have the film capitol of the world, top 4 global economy, top 1 tourists destination, summertime breeze and snowy winter in the northern parts of San Bernardino county.
This is where you can visit the Big Bear National Park and go skiing and snowboarding with your hip friends. Unfortunately, I didn't stack up on my winter supples, I was a little bit short of a winter jacket, hat, and snowboots. My boyfriend and I were freezing our butts off in the deep snow, while our other rival teammates enjoyed a gruesome snow fight out in the open. We had snowballs coming at us in every directon, but no mitten and gloves to fend it off. We can fairly called it the battle of the thrones.
The National Park is also a great place to go camping and hunt deers, only during deer season. Of course, if you are as absentminded as me, you might have mistaken your comfy snowboots for wild boar meat, which I've carelessly melted off at the bombfire in our camp ground. Looks like I'm going to have to walk home with my bare foot tonight! Not even smours will keep me warm now!
